When new tenants Debbie Scrivens and Jason Tharp took over at the George Inn, Leeds Village in late December last year – they never imagined the baptism of fire that they were in for. Taking over at the busiest time of the year was a challenge in itself but being greeted with local road closures, horrendous weather conditions and no electricity was something they hadn’t bargained for. However thanks to the goodwill and overwhelming support of friends, family and the local community the day to day running of the pub is more like how they dreamed. Debbie and Jason fell in love with the pub from the offset and are excited about
getting it back to being the community pub that it used to be.

The menu has been updated with some great offers to entice in locals and visitors from the wider community. Chef Paul, locally
know as Kelfy has been a part of the pub for many many years and supported by assistant chef Darren they will be cooking up some classic pub favourites such as homemade classic lasagne or a warming Ocean pie.
Debbie and Jason are keen to become involved in the local community – by supporting the local cricket and football teams plus holding regular friendly darts competitions. The monthly quiz will continue on the first Tuesday of the month. Local clubs and societies are welcome to use the pub for meetings and events.
