Education & Business

Colleges, universities and training establishments are so much more in tune with the needs of business. The image has long faded of a campus having a rarefied atmosphere where lecturers and students dismissed any notion of commercial reality. Today’s educational centres work alongside the corporate and commercial world.

Book for the awards gala dinner

Seats are already being booked for this year’s Women in Business awards, which will be open to entries from May 1

Presented by The Business Magazine, Women in Business is sponsored by Barclays, Deloitte, law firm Blake Lapthorn and recruitment specialist GCS.

An official launch event will be staged at Oakley Hall, near Basingstoke, on June 12, with Women in Business ambassadors, entrants and last year’s winners networking with sponsors over drinks and canapés.

The nomination form will be available on our website from May with a closing date of July 31.

The awards night itself takes place on September 11 at Oakley Hall, and the high-profile dinner will be attended by many of the top businesswomen from throughout the region.

Special guest speaker will be Dame Stephanie Shirley, an inspirational IT entrepreneur, rated as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Britain.

Nominations are invited from private- sector businesses, public-sector organisations, charities, and the professions.

Women in Business is not just an awards scheme. The campaign will identify woman role models, encourage mentoring and focus on citizenship, while creating a forum for businesswomen to discuss the issues of the day.

Judges will meet in August to decide on five shortlisted finalists for each category.

Demand for tickets for the Women in Business finals is expected to be high. To secure your table of 12 at £1,140 ex VAT or individual places at £95 each ex VAT, email Linda Morse at linda@elcot.co.uk.
