s I sit at my desk and contemplate the arrival of spring, I am feeling energized and excited by the change of seasons. Although winter’s not gone yet, at some point it must relent

and make way for spring! We have a great issue in store for you. April marks the sec-

ond anniversary for Natural Awakenings in the Twin Cities! There are currently 90 Natural Awakenings magazines being published across the country and this year marks the company’s 20th anniver- sary. I’m just thrilled with how well we’ve been received and not

a week goes during which I don’t hear from someone about how much they love this magazine. Me too! We’re honored to have Matt and Brigitt Gunelson of Gunelson Fitness featured in our community spotlight. I met with Brigitt recently and toured their in-home gym. They have an amazing setup and a unique offering of many aspects of fitness, nutri- tion and overall well-being. I encourage any of you looking to improve your health to consider contacting the Gunelsons for a free consultation to see if their service is the right fit for you. We have a lot of fun events we’ll be participating in this month! On April 5 you’ll find us at the second annual Conscious Living Expo at Lake

Harriet. This event is free and open to the public. If it’s a beautiful day, schedule a walk around Lake Harriet. If it’s not a nice day, then spend more time inside at the expo. If you’re a lover of bookstores (like me), then you’ll certainly want to visit Wild Rumpus just down the street. This quaint children’s bookstore has live animals and an ambiance that is conducive to a lazy Saturday afternoon. Need I mention that it is right next to a tea shop? The following Saturday, April 12, we’ll be at the Aveda Women’s Expo, in Blaine, for this fourth annual fundraiser. This event is a crowd-pleaser with a chance to win auc- tion items, get free samples and enjoy free hair styling, massages, makeup applications and chakra readings. Bring your girlfriends and stop by our booth to say hello. Finally, on April 26, visit us at the Maple Grove Community Center for the annual Longevity Expo. Add years to your life by learning you can do now that will make a difference. Big and small, every decision you make (or don’t make) is adding to your life or taking away from it. I learned this from Tom Rath, author of Eat Move Sleep, who explains common-sense decisions in no-nonsense terms, such as “Small choices lead to big change” and “Every bite of food is a net gain or a net loss.” Thank you, dear readers, for reading us, sharing us, offering feedback and patroniz-

ing the advertisers in our magazine who resonate with you. Happy Spring!
