Horse Expo Pomona Horse power, prize money and fun made for a full weekend in Southern California.

One of the nation’s finest horse expos, Horse Expo Pomona, was held on Feb. 7-9, at the Fairplex in Pomona. This three-day horse fest offered competitions with cash prizes, a wealth of information from live demos and lectures and loads of fun for all horse enthusiasts. Now in its third year, Horse Expo Pomona brought together record crowds from Southern California and around the country. With over 150,000 sq. ft. of indoor space and five aces of outdoor grounds, this event offered something for everyone. The event offered educational seminars and clinics, a Young Rider Park, Trail Symposium, Book Corral and Great American Truck Display.

The exhibit floor was housed in three buildings and offered a huge assortment of horse and ranch products and services with special show discounts, as well as tons of free samples to take home. Large exhibits like Thrifty Horse, Dan’s Feed & Seed and Hooves and Paws set up a mini store front. Attendees got one-on-one time in the expo hall with clinician favorites Jane Savoie, John Lyons, Sandy Collier and Jonathan Field, who also gave clinics on site. Gina Miles even offered the opportunity for attendees to see and touch her Olympic Silver medal that she was awarded in individual eventing at the 2008 Olympic Games. Miki Nelsen, President of Horse Expo Events, stated,

“We are thrilled at the enthusiasm for this event in Pomona this year as we focused on broadening the Expo to capture new aspects of the horse industry. This year we welcomed two new events, the Breed Revelation and the California Classic Stock Horse Championship, and we were pleased with the response from our attendees.” On opening night of the Expo, the 1st Annual Toyota California Classic Stock Horse Championship with official judges Sandy Collier (NRCHA & AQHA World Champion) and Lance Johnston (leading cow horse trainer whose lifetime earnings exceeds $6,000,000) was a free event for attendees.
