Two boats and two dinghies being fi nished at Hank Hinckley's shop on Mount Desert Island. Rumery’s Boat Yard in Biddeford is

In for repair work is a trimaran, which had hull damage suffered in a grounding. Another trimaran hit a government buoy and opened up a seam. Both boats have been repaired and are ready to go over. A 40-foot wooden Grand Banks was sold about six years ago and her new owner took it home to NH to work on. She is now being readied for the upcoming season. A J-105 is in to have her interior bulk- heads repaired. A Hinckley Sou’wester 42 is to have a leisure furl system installed and have her mast painted.


They also did a cosmetic job on the Prouts Neck Yacht Club’s launch.


Then they have a carbon fi bre dinghy to build, but this one is going to be the sailing model. She will be started in February and ready for this summer.


Brewer’s South Freeport Marine has a busy schedule ahead of them this winter and spring.


In the shop is a 43-foot Montevideo, which has just completed a fi ve year circum- navigation of the globe. It was found that she had about four square feet of wet core in her hull. Once this is replaced they will Awlgrip the hull and repair the rudder. A Robinhood 36 was in and had her bot- tom stripped, barrier coated and then painted with Micron 66. They will also Awlgrip the hull, service the engine and realign the

Brooklin Boat Yard is just setting up the moulds for this 72 foot cold moulded day- sailer designed by German Frers. She will be launched in 2015.

At Chip Johnson’s yard in Harpswell has a wooden boat in the shop, which was probably built by Henry Barnes in 1957. She was glassed in 1990 and is in real good shape. This winter they have raised her house 4½ inches and have moved the hauler from the washboards to the bulkhead. Next is a RP40 commercial boat from Gloucester coming in for a long list of repair work.


There is also talk that a Young Brothers 35 will be in to have a new cabin put on.
