YOUNG adults responsible for organising the Phoenix Festival last year have been named as the regional winners of the vIn- spired National Awards. The festival featured local bands and stalls selling every- thing from inflatables to retro clothing. As well as organising the event

for recognition, helping people is enough motivation. But it’s great to knowthat people appre- ciate what we do. “It’sbrilliant that these awards

not only celebrate the benefits of volunteering but also inspire young people to volunteer and makeadifference in their com- munities.” Amy-MayKnowles,winner of Cirencester’sYoungCitizen of the Year 2012 and one of the vol- unteers involved said “I’m glad that our work has been recog- nised and I’m so proud of what we accomplished.” Cirencester College student
