The creation of the team was first dis-


cussed by Rick Clasby of UTA and Chad Sheppick of UDOT, soon after Rick accept- ed the job as the new UTA Director. Sheppick and Clasby felt that this would enhance the relationship with UDOT and UTA and would be beneficial to all. They determined there was a need to include Utah Highway Patrol and extended an invi- tation which was enthusiastically accepted. “The Utah Safety Team is a combina-
