Grammar pupils sign up for career network
STUDENTS at aMaidstone school aspiring to a high-flying career will soon be able to get in touchwith past pupils to find out howit’s done. Anewdigitised alumni network means pupils
at Maidstone Girls Grammar School can con- nect with former students to find out how they climbed the ladder to success. More than 500 former pupils signed up to the

this comprehensive alumni list with their own career information. Former students who con- tribute will also beable to access thenetwork to help meet their own professional ambitions.

Man found hanged in park Assault sentence
A POLISH man was found hanging at a chil- dren’s playground that he loved to visit in Tovil, a Maidstone inquest heard. KrzysztofWrona (29) of College Road, Maid-
stone, was found dead at The Stampers play area shortly after 6am onMarch 16, by Neal Al- lison, who was on his way to work. MrWrona, whoworked at Boddingtons Plas-
tics, Marden, had come to this country in 2009. He was joined two years later by his younger brother, Michael, who lived with him. Through an interpreter, Michael told the in-
quest that his brother often visited the park. “He really seemed to love that place, he said the woods were lovely.” Mr Wrona had parted from his girlfriend, Justyna Pawloska, a month before his death, but had exchanged text messages with her the night before he died because he was unhappy about some gossip about stolen beer.
His brother said he had been engaged to a girl
in Poland and had been depressed when the re- lationship ended. He had threatened to hang himself then, but had not spoken of it since coming to the UK. Mr Wrona had spent the evening before his
death watching football on television at a friend’s house. He was last seen alive at about 11pm when another friend, Martyna Perkow- icz, gave him a lift home. She said that he had seemed happier than usual. Toxicology reports showed that he had drunk
more than the legal alcohol limit for driving and an empty beer can was found near his body. Mid Kent and Medway Coroner Patricia Harding recorded that he took his own life. She said: “Outwardly he would appear to be fine, but he had on occasions shown himself to be depressed.”
A MAIDSTONE man has appeared beforeMid Kent Magistrates’ Court for sentencing. David Ademiju (23). of Kingsley
Road, Maidstone, was found guilty of assaulting a man in Earl Street on July 25 when he appeared be- fore Mid KentMagistrates. At his recent appearance he was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months and pay £200 in compen- sation, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
