Robyn Diaz has been named chief legal officer and senior vice president at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Diaz was instrumental in founding the Memphis Bar Association’s Health Law Section after she moved to Memphis three years ago and serves as the section chair.


Stites & Harbison, PLLC has opened a new office in the UT-Baptist Research Park in Memphis, bringing the law firm’s total number of offices to 10 in five states, with three of those offices in Tennessee. Intellectual property law and health care attorney Cong “Connie” Ding, who joined Stites & Harbison in its Nashville office earlier this year, will be based in the Memphis office with additional attorneys to follow.

The Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services (TALS) presented the prestigious B. Riney Green Award to Harrison D. McIver III, Executive Director/CEO of Memphis Area Legal Services, Inc. (MALS). Te award named in honor of B. Riney Green, a member of the Bass Berry & Sims PLC, in Nashville, for organizing support that expanded funding for civil legal assistance to low-income individuals in Tennessee.

Haavi Morreim, JD, PhD, Principal in the ADR Institute and a Rule 31-listed mediator for both civil and family matters, has been appointed Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association's Task Force on ADR and Conflict Resolution in Health Care. Separately, she has been appointed Vice-Chair of the American Health Lawyers Association's ADR Affinity Group.


Memphis city attorney Herman Morris, Jr. is the 2013 recipient of the International Municipal Lawyers Association’s Joseph I. Milligan Jr. Distinguished Public Service Award, which recognized a government attorney for achievements in local government law.


Te Academy of Education Arts & Sciences presented David Pickler with a 2013 Bammy Award. Pickler, who is also president of the National School Boards Association (NSBA), was honored in the school board category during a gala in Washington D.C.


Cheryl Williams has joined Suskind Susser PC as a member of the firm.


George T. "Buck" Lewis has been selected to be a recipient of Te University of Tennessee's national Alumni Service Award. Te Alumni Service Award is awarded in recognition of extraordinary service to Te University of Tennessee. Mr. Lewis received three degrees at the University of Tennessee: a B.S. in Business Administration in 1976 and a J.D./M.B.A. in 1980.
