“In an ideal world you’d give everyone a fair crack of the whip because everyone has hidden talents − but in an ideal world I would have a team of 10 people trying to find them.” So says Alan Geaney, Director of HR and Development at Kent-based law firm Cripps Harries Hall, which demands a minimum 2:1 degree classification from prospective candidates, and receives about 160 applications each year for no more than 10 trainee solicitor vacancies.
