Tomy runs Battroborg retailer event

LeapFrog begins cinema advertising

LeapFrog, a fi rst time cinema advertiser, has booked a four-month cinema campaign with Digital Cinema Media to promote the LeapPad Ultra in the build-up to Christmas. The campaign, facilitated by Arena Azure, began running on the

20th September, and will continue until the 22nd December. David Cecil, broadcast manager at Arena Azure, explained: “Cinema

provides us with the perfect opportunity to reach the whole family in a highly immersive, shared viewing environment. The medium creates the ideal setting for LeapFrog to promote their LeapPad Ultra. Utilising cinema in the lead up to Christmas places the brand at the forefront of both parents’ and children’s minds at a key time of year.” The campaign will run with all Kid’s Clubs across leading cinema

chains.

The toy trade’s number 1 resource for marketing news and opinion

Tomy is currently running a campaign, from October into November, which will see Battroborg battle in six of The Entertainer’s key stores. Consumers will be able to throw a few punches with a Borg and battle against local amateur

boxing champs. There is also the chance for two consumers to win a special limited edition gold Battroborg robot in each store. Stuart Grant, buying director from The Entertainer, said: “Working with Tomy to promote

Battroborg in our stores provides another reason for consumers to visit in the run-up to Christmas. The Christmas boys’ toy market is a battle in its own right and we think Battroborg is a heavyweight contender.” To support the retailer campaign, Tomy has a planned marketing programme of TV product placement, social media activity, giveaways, blogger reviews and competitions, which will run throughout the launch and the key Christmas buying period.
