SCA 2014 will take place May 14–17, 2014, at the Gaylord Op-

ryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The program will feature more than

65 sessions that can help you run your ASC more efficiently, increase your productivity and keep your staff and pa- tients happy. The meeting also will give you the chance to network with your peers, exchange best practices and dis- cuss marketplace trends that could have immediate and long-term implications for your ASC.

What’s new at ASCA 2014? “Given the effects that current eco- nomic conditions, health care reform and the stagnating growth associated with our maturing industry are having on ASCs, many are looking for ways to expand the services they offer or to cap- italize on what they already provide,” says Gina Throneberry, RN, CASC, director of education and clinical af- fairs at ASCA. “To help ASCs make the most of the new opportunities that are available to them, this year’s annual meeting will include a series of ses- sions on the procedures that we are see- ing move from hospitals into the ASC setting most often today. These include total joint procedures, sleeve surgery, outpatient laparoscopic hysterectomy, advanced gynecologic laparoscopy, Femtosecond laser procedures, premi- um lens implants, spine procedures and urology services. All of these sessions will be led by physicians with experi- ence performing these procedures in ASCs.”

At ASCA 2014, she will introduce her “Fascination Advantage” test—a test that you will be able to take and have the results of before coming to Nashville—and the techniques everyone can use to “fascinate” those around them.
