Talking is often confused with other aspects of communication and language. Talking (or speaking) is the way that someone communicates their ideas, requests and observations orally. It is described in the Early Years Foundation Stage profile as ELG 03.

1 Talk About...Tubs


These Talk About Tubs are a launch pad for imagination and inspiration. Children delve into one or more of the twenty tubs and use the items inside to create their own story. Each tub has a selection of characters and artefacts which can be used to create a setting and add characters or characteristics for storytelling. The tactile nature of the resource keeps children engaged and their mind focused. The tubs are split into fiction and non-fiction topics and can easily be used together or individually. Fiction tubs include: Under the Sea, Jungle, Pirates, Mystery, Space, Seaside, Fantasy, Explorer, Party, Farm. Teaching and learning phonics has never been so easy and so much fun. 44 Sounds and Spelling Tubs


These Sound Tubs help teach all the different sounds and spellings of the 44 sounds in the English Language. Inside each tub there are a number of visual items to represent the different spellings of that particular sound eg:‘a_e’ for cake but also ‘eigh’ as in sleigh, helping children see how different spellings can create the same sound.
