ertifi ed Sling & Supply is many things to many people: To their commercial customers, Certifi ed Slings is an innovative and reliable partner that’s trusted throughout with the rigging, overhead lifting, load securement and
contractor supplies industries. To the soldiers who benefi t from Certifi ed Sling’s equipment and their decades-long tradition of supporting American troops and veterans, the company and its products can mean the diff erence between life and death. And, for the company’s team and its management, Certifi ed Slings & Supply is a family tradition built on dedication to service, a commitment to excellence and a patriotic sense of duty. T e story of Certifi ed as it is today begins with Ron
Worswick’s founding of his Fourdee company back in 1958. An ambitious and successful defense contractor, Worswick and Fourdee made their names developing metal and mine detectors for the U.S. military and were eventually bought out by Emerson Electronics in 1976. After the sale, Worswick took a short one year break from business, enjoying the rewards of his hard work. But, when a friend came to him with a business to sell, Worswick knew it was time to take a shot at growing another company.

“Dad was 51 years old when Certifi ed Slings became
available,” explains Ron’s son and Certifi ed CEO Doug Worswick. “T e owner knew dad and thought this would be a good opportunity for him. Dad purchased Certifi ed Slings in 1978. It was really a very small marine hardware rigging store. At the time, they had about 4 hundred thousand in revenue and seven employees.” Today we have approximately 40 million in revenue, 115 full-time team members and 25 temporary workers. Certifi ed Slings has become a very well known, respected, qualifi ed and responsible contractor. Ron Worswick was known to his team as “Mr. W.” T e appellation conveyed both respect and aff ection, and it also refl ected Worswick’s belief that his company’s fortunes were directly tied to performance of the talented, dedicated individuals he sought to empower through his simple philosophy: “Be humble, be proud and take care of your team and they’ll take care of your customers. Everything else will take care of itself.” T e company is currently led by second and third-
generation Worswick’s who continue to be dedicated to “Mr. W’s” commitment to service, quality and teamwork. T ey bring over 70 years of combined experience to the
