What attracted you to the job?

I’ve always known I’ve wanted to work in the theatre or with children - I was a voluntary youth worker at school, started dancing at the age of eight and studied performing arts at A-Level. My apprenticeship at the council gave me the chance to try both options, and I loved the variety in the Community Development Team.

What do you like most about your job?

No day is ever the same — today I’m the site manager at Safety in Action helping primary school children with safety messages, whilst next week I’ll be working with armed forces leavers to aid their resettlement into the community. I also like that the work our team does helps to make a difference in people’s lives.

What does customer services mean to you?

Being friendly, helpful and not ‘closing the door’ on people. By listening to customers and responding to their needs, we can work with them to resolve any issues.
