Philip Slingsby collects his trophy for individual best gun


Tony King of Clifford Chance LLP receives the Distinguished Service Award


The following presentations were made at the Company’s AGM on 17th June 2013 in honour and recognition of achievements during the last year:-


The Distinguished Service Award


The Award for 2013 was presented to Tony King of Clifford Chance LLP in recognition of his outstanding work as Chairman of the CLLS Training Committee since 2004, including his recent work on the Legal Education and Training Review and running the Company Prize over many years.


The Company’s Prize


The Company Prize for 2013 was awarded to Tom Wood, a trainee with Herbert Smith Freehills LLP. Tom’s winning essay is published on page 9.


Inter-Firm Clay Pigeon Shooting Trophy


The winning team for the 2012 Inter- Firm Clay Pigeon Shooting Competition was Tom Verrill and Robert Meade of Ashurst LLP.


The prize for individual best gun was won by Philip Slingsby.

The Company Prize Winner, Tom Wood of Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, with the Master


Inter-Livery Annual Clay Pigeon Shoot


The Company’s team of Eleanor Shanks, Tom Verrill, David Perks and Philip Slingsby came 16th out of 101 teams in the Competition.


Golf


The Prince Arthur Cup Inter-Livery Golf Competition was held on 16th May at Walton Heath and the Company’s team of Anthony Surtees, Richard Grandison, Steven Turnbull and Francis Donagh finished 18th out of 55 teams.


Inter-Livery Bridge Competition


Mark Nichols and Roy Griggs represented the Company at the Inter-Livery Bridge Competition on 4th March 2013 at Drapers’ Hall and came 15th out of 64 teams competing.
