• Santander Corporate & Commercial has appointed Brian Cahill as a new relationship director for the South East of England. Based at the Corporate Business Centre in Gatwick, but covering the wider South East area, Cahill will specialise in working with local businesses with annual turnover between £25 million and £50m, and will be responsible for building new customer relationships as the bank looks to expand further into the region. He joins a 35-strong team including sector and product specialists in real estate, healthcare, education, asset, invoice and trade finance. He previously worked for Allied Irish Bank and has 15 years' experience working in the region. Gwyn Price, regional director for Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “I am delighted to welcome Brian to our team. He is an experienced banker committed to supporting businesses in the South East, and I wish him every success in his new role.”


• Commercial property consultancy Vail Williams is continuing its expansion with the recruitment of planning expert Elizabeth Burt to its Reading office. Burt joins Vail Williams as an associate in its dedicated planning discipline. Based in the Reading office, she will cover the South East, Thames Valley and Midlands regions, providing planning consultancy and advice that contributes directly to the success of the clients. Burt has eight years’ experience having worked for Savills for five years and at a local authority.


• Provider of enterprise-level technology services and software solutions Mastek has appointed Sudhakar Ram as chief executive officer in its UK division. Ram has relocated to the company’s UK head office and will assume full responsibility for the region. Continuing in his role as group CEO and managing director of Mastek, Ram’s appointment by the board of directors reflects the strategic importance of UK to Mastek’s overall business. The UK is a key geography for Mastek and Ram will be integral in supporting its continued growth across key industries including financial services, retail and the public sector. Ram will also be responsible for increasing collaboration across other geographies, as part of Mastek’s vision to promote consolidated growth in all markets on a global basis.


• Chartered accountancy and business advisory firm Wilkins Kennedy has appointed Naomi Nesbit as partner. Based in the Winchester office, Nesbit heads the corporate tax team, providing tax advice to companies and shareholders in both the SME and large corporate markets. As an ACA and CTA-qualified accountant, she provides pro- active advice for her diverse portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors, including property and construction, retail and manufacturing. Nesbit has considerable experience including expertise in the areas of corporate restructuring and transactions, venture capital schemes, R&D tax relief, capital allowances and international tax.
