Natural Skin Care Studio Battles Aging, Acne and Human Trafficking

F

ace2Face Skincare and Makeup Studio, in Roseville, is committed to bringing clients naturally healthier skin and also to helping vic-

tims of sexual slavery. Five percent of all sales are donated to Shared Hope International, which fights trafficking around the world. “Skin care has to be about more than beauty; it’s about restoring confidence, good health and community,” says Cynthia Kretschmar, Face2Face owner. “The natural condi- tion of the skin is to be healthy. Modern lifestyles and some bad choices, as well as disease, interfere with the skin’s natural function.” Face2Face uses all-natural products and treatments to restore skin to its naturally beautiful and healthy condition. “We take our philosophy of natural restoration and apply it to the community; it keeps our priorities straight,” Kretschmar says. When beauty alone is the goal, she explains, unhealthy treatment choices for quick results can lead to long-term skin dam- age. When naturally healthy skin is the goal, beauty is a natural outcome that can last a lifetime because the skin isn’t damaged in the treatment process. Kretschmar is a licensed esthetician with 25 years of experience in the cosmetics and skin care industry. She chose to open her own skin-care business so she could better pursue her passion for a natural approach to skin health and make a contribution to the community she serves.

Body Mind Circle Offers Free Yoga, Massage and Meditation for Crises

P

eople experiencing crises can be treated to a free massage or yoga session at Body

Mind Circle Holistic Healing Center, in Circle Pines, thanks to a fund established solely for this purpose. In addition, people battling cancer can receive three free massages or meditation training. Co-owner Hiyala Indiga says the Karma

Fund was started 10 years ago when Body Mind Circle first opened. She explains that people are often drawn to yoga and massage at times of crisis in their lives. Yet many can’t afford such luxuries during a crisis, which is unfortunate,

as these modalities can help the healing process. “When the nervous system is calm, people heal faster,” says Indiga. Through the generosity of many people, Body Mind Circle is able to offer the

Karma Fund. A cow-shaped bank in the entryway invites customers to toss in any amount of money, including loose change, which is added to the fund. There is a short application form for each recipient to complete. In addition, Indiga also offers three free massages or meditation training to people

who are battling cancer. These sessions are offered through the Neighbor to Neigh- bor program at the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute of Unity Hospital, in Fridley.

Location: Body Mind Circle, 301 Village Pkwy., Circle Pines. For more information, call 612-850-0071 or visit BodyMindCircle.com.
