DOWNLOAD NEW HIPAA GUIDANCE The US Department of Health & Hu- man Services (HHS) has released new guidance regarding methods of de-iden- tifying health information protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Ac- countability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Pri- vacy and Security Rules. The guidance provides more information on the obli- gation to de-identify HIPAA-protected health information as well as the meth- ods for accomplishing that.
