Rides over the beautiful moorlands of the West Penwith Peninsula
The South West Equine Protection (SWEP)
SWEP is a registered charity that rescues and rehabilitates wild moorland ponies from both Darmorr and Bodmin Moor.
They rescue ponies in desperate need; from mares having difficulty foaling to those involved in road traffic collisions.
When a pony comes into SWEP’s care it will never be sold or released back to the moor; instead they work with them at their rehabilitation yard giving them everything they need to be able to be rehomed on their loan scheme.
SWEP has a dedicated welfare team that will assist in any moorland pony related issue.
After a recent call from a concerned walker, SWEP attended a mare and a fial in very bad condition near Sharp Tor on Bodmin Moor.
By going through the correct
procedures and notifying the relevant authorities the ponies were swiftly taken by lorry to the SWEP yard where they could receive veterinary attention in the safety and comfort of a stable.
SWEP rely soley on donations from the general public to support the ponies in there care.

We specialise in the rescue and rehabilitation of wild moorland ponies both from Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor.
Ponies that are in an emaciated condition, mares having trouble giving birth and injured ponies hit by cars.
We have rescued over 400 ponies providing them with care, attention and veterinry treatment that they need to return to full health.
We then work with them at our specialist rehabilitation yard so that
