10 years of Park Wood Multi-Agency Partnership

Grants on hold VOLUNTARY groups, chari- ties and local organisations who need funds to help with local projectswill have towait a little longer for local mem- ber grant aid this year. Because there are county

councilelectionsinMay,the grants, generally allocated to members in April, will not be made available until after the elections. Most local member grants

for this year have already been spent and any bids for re- mainingmoney had to be in to KCC by the end of January. Details of members who

have funds available will be found on the KCC website later in the year, with details of how to apply. It also con- tains details of what kind of projects might be eligible.

Zebra move PLANS are afoot to move the zebra crossing on Wallis Av- enue.

Following numerous com- plaints that the pedestrian crossing is too close to the roundabout, KCC is looking at moving it a few yards further down the road. Cllr Gary Cooke said he hoped this would resolve the problems.

pecially those in the voluntary sector. who gave so much of their time to benefit others. He said: “It is wonderful to

know that every bit of society, from the old to the young, are being looked after and cared for. I have been very impressed by all that I have heard, and thank everyone for doing such a great job. “I never cease to be amazed

by the amount of work that vol- unteers do; if they did not exist, Maidstone – and many other places – would fall apart.” Mike FitzGerald was elected chairman for a further yearwith Carol Vizzard voted vice-chair- man.
