LAWSON
Tell us a little bit about the new single “Learn to love again” It’s the fourth single off the album, and it is one of my favourites. It has a different vibe to the rest of tour singles, and I feel like it is a bit of an anthem. I am looking forward to playing the song at festivals.
The tour kicks off in a few weeks’ time, what can your fans expect? We really enjoy playing live to a big crowd. It will be a bit of a rock show, and people will get to see what Lawson is all about. We have been supporting a lot of other artists, so it is nice to be out there on our own.
Who would you duet with dead or alive? The band would love to have a female artist on vocals, so it would be great to work with someone like Taylor Swift, Katie Perry, or Jessie J. The country vibe of Taylor Swift would really bring a great sound to our tracks.
>> Exclusive Interview
Who are yours and the bands main inspirations? I really love Bon Jovi, U2, and Guns ‘N’ Roses, and the band in general really love Maroon 5, Kings of Leon, Adele, and The Script.
Interview with bass player Ryan Fletcher.
What advice would you give to a young person that wants to make it in music? We started really small, played in a lot of pubs and small clubs. What really helped us was the social media circuit. The song that got us recognised by a record label was a Bruno Mars song that we put on You Tube. It is a great idea to put covers on You Tube to get yourself out there, and
really important to engage with your following on Facebook and Twitter.
What was life like for you at school? Life was really good, I was the kid who was friends with everyone. Music played a really big part for me in my school days, I started playing the guitar in year 7 and was in a lot of different bands throughout school.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time? We want to be one of the biggest bands in the World. We would love to do huge arena tours
and keep making good music for our fans.
