The spacious heated cab on the enhanced E14 and E16 models offers a large doorwidthwhich, together with the lowposition of the superstructure, provides easy access to the cab. Inside, themost important improvements are the newergonomic travel levers and pedals that have proved very successful on the larger E26 excavatormodel. The cab also incorporates as standard a newfloormat and internal liner. The E14, equippedwith heated cab, has an operatingweight of 1500 kg and offers a maximumdigging depth of 2301mm. The E16 offers a choice of dipper sticks: a standard dipper stick and a long dipper stick. Equippedwith heated cab, the E16 excavatorwith standard dipper stick has an operatingweight of 1744 kg and offers amaximumdigging depth of 2422mm. Equippedwith the
long dipper stick, the E16 has a maximumdigging depth of 2602 mm.

Both the E14 and E16 are powered by the 3- cylinder 9.9 kWKubotaD722 engine. High digging performance is enhanced by the stability provided by the dozer blade and the lowcentre of gravity of themachines. They also have feature the ‘cylinder- over-boom’ design. Since the cylinder ismounted on top of the boom, it is protectedwhenworking in tight spaces orwith attachments. The oversized diameter of the cylinders enhances the breakout forces and lifting capacities of themachines. Picking up and placing heavy objects is therefore easywith either excavatormodel as the E14 can liftmore than 300 kgwhilst the larger E16 can liftmore than 350 kg. The auxiliary hydraulic lines andworkgroup hoses aremounted inside the boomand armfor optimal protection and enhanced visibility. Attachments,which include a range of different sized digging and trenching buckets, grading buckets, hydraulic breakers, augers and the hydraulic clamp, can be easilymounted. A thickmetal tailgate protects the rear of the excavator, an important feature for demanding applications in equipment rental, demolition and the construction industries. Other features that contribute to the superior durability of the E14 and E16 are the steel side covers; protection for the blade cylinder; and the use of three rollers in the track systemto optimise rubber track life.
