CityEditorial
Winter is truly upon us now. The period between our Autumn edition and this one has seen intense activity by the professional Committees, reports of which appear in this edition. We wish to express a note of seasonal gratitude to the Chairs of the professional Committees, who produce reports of such quality. In this edition, we particularly commend the reports of the Revenue Law Committee and the Regulatory Law Committee.
The Clerk has once again excelled in producing a superb entry in the Lord Mayors’ Show. The photographic evidence appears inside. We are also delighted to provide some small insight into the Master’s musical tastes. His list is likely to stimulate as much debate as the excellent speech by Richard Susskind at the recent outstanding Livery Dinner held at the Drapers Hall in November.
The City is indeed a unique legal environment, the location of the head offices of large and influential law firms, in which practitioners at the top of their fields advise massive clients. We are justifiably proud that City Solicitor is the only publication produced by and for the City profession.
The Editorial Board, together with representatives of both stakeholders in City Solicitor, is exploring options to make City Solicitor even more relevant

to the City profession, our readers. We already publish an electronic version and we have developed a prototype iPad compatible edition, which we hope to roll out early in 2013. We are exploring new layouts, styles, and completely upgraded content – an exiting time in the development of this publication. Watch this space!
On that note of hope and expectation, we wish all readers a happy, healthy and safe holiday season, and every success in 2013.
