THE Anti- Capitalist Roadshow pays avisit to St David’s Hall next week as part of the Roots
Unearthed season and
features acollective of singers and songwriters. These include Frankie Arm-
strong, RoyBailey,RobbJohnson, Reem Kelani, Sandra Kerr,Grace Petrie,Leon Rosselson, Janet Russ- ell, PeggySeeger,Jim Woodland plus socialist magician, Ian Saville. The Anti-Capitalist Roadshow
beganwith the Occupymovement and the sense the government was imposing an ideologicallydriven austerity programme on all butthe elite,and in particular on the poor, the vulnerableand the disabled. In response,the roadshowhas
brought their songs and magic to enthusiastic audiences across the UK with the aim of raising spirits and giving hope and heart and a smile or twotothose angry at life in recession-hit Britain. Who are Simple As? Simple As are made up of Crissy Richards (Bass Guitar and lead Vocals) GideonWay(Lead Guitar) TomDann (Drums) and Conor Gratton (Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals)
Simple As have been on the sceneawhile, howdid youall come together? Weare a4-piece alternative rock band fromCwmbran and Pontypool. Crissyand Gideon started the band with our previous drummer backinlate2007 where we started writing afew songs and playing afew shows in the local area. In 2010 with the drummer leaving
the band we met Tomthrough friends,and seeing him play with afew other bands there wasaninstant musical con- nection between the three of us and straight away they were taking music more serious and devel- opingawhole newsound. Wethen hit the studio to record our first set of demo
tracks.This created alot of interest and oppor- tunities to playour music more widespread. In 2012 after alot of discussion

JeffRose.Itwill be released in early February 2013. This EP will include our single I Don’t Care whichwas released in July2012.We are also writing new material and on the lookout for more gigs fortopromote the EP release.

Stereophonics set to return

KellyJones and produced by KellyJones and JimLowe,it’s the final piece in the puzzle fora newlyrefined Stereophonics,a bandwhohave alreadyhadanational newspa- per describe this albumas their “least conventional yet”,prais- ing its “newfound lightness of touch.”
Thealbumalso sees the band
collaborate withDavid Arnold, whoarranged strings on several tracks. KellyJones has
