Whispered Wish Weser-Ems German Riding Pony Breeding and Sales

whenever she comes to the barn, no matter how long it’s been since he’s seen her.” The priority with Locksley has been training and

competition, so he hasn’t been promoted as a breeding stallion, although he is approved with the ATA. His first frozen semen was made available to a limited number of mares in 2012, so four foals are expected this year. “It will be fun to see his foals,” Susanne says, “and I know Meg is excited too.” What does the future hold for Lord Locksley? Accord-

ing to Susanne he will never be sold. “The owner and her husband are fantastic people. They believe that breaking a relationship between a trainer and her horse, which is as tight as the relationship I have with Locksley, would cause nothing but heartbreak for everyone involved,” she explains. “They have pretty much accepted that Locksley won't come home until he is ready to retire." However, with Locksley at the prime age of twelve, retirement hopefully won’t be any time soon! “For now we’ll work on continuing to improve the Grand Prix,” Susanne says, “and aim for the CDI ring. And after that . . . who knows?”
