ROVERS
A 90-YEAR-OLD woman was rescued by boat yesterday after being stranded on the first floor of her house for four days.
Diana Mallows was trapped in
her home in North Curry, near Taunton, after the River Tone burst its banks.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said she had been stuck on the upper floor of her property for the last four days. The service received a call yes- terday morning asking for help to

rescue the pensioner from the house which is right next to the river.
Deep floodwater hampered the rescue crews as they went to Di- ana’s aid. Because of the depth of the water, a specialist water res- cue crew from Bridgwater had to be deployed.
