Original cream linen lettered in brown; pp. [vi], 7-94 + [ii]; with black-and-white photographs on every page showing model and full-size planes, gliders, balloons, sea-planes etc.; a nice copy with a narrow horizontal strip of shadowing to top edge of upper board and a couple of short splits to spine cloth; internally very clean throughout, with cracking to upper hinge (although firm on webbing), an ink stamp of the National Labour Party featuring the Reichs Eagle to front pastedown and a pictorial bookplate greeting the comrades of the Wehrmacht, from the National Overseas Committee in Denmark.
Second edition. First published in 1938. With an Introduction by General der Fleiger Christiansen, who was Commander of the German Wehrmacht in the Netherlands and a German seaplane ace. After the war he was charged with war crimes and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment in Arnhem, although he was released 3 years later. A photographic record of the science of model plane construction among the Hitler Youth showing the sport’s contribution to military applications.

First edition, deluxe edition of this Lonsdale Library volume, limited to 375 copies printed on handmade paper, signed by the author with the collection of 30 examples of artificial flies illustrating the various schools of fly dressing.

8vo., original paper covered boards with dust wrapper. With 4 colour and 44 black and white illustrations by Barrington Browne. Wrapper a little dusty with a couple of closed tears, faint signs of some waterstaining to part of wrapper with very slight matching fading to boards, a little white marking to paste-downs as usual, otherwise a very good copy.
First edition signed by both Eric Taverner and W Barrington Browne. With loosely inserted a copy of the 4 page typed list of paintings for the exhibition of fishing pictures by Barrington Browne held at the Rowland Ward Galleries. 18 of the paintings exhibited were reproduced in The Running of the Salmon.
