diplomat, was the son-in-law of President Nasser, a friend of Colonel Gaddafi, a confidante of Tony Rowland and a rumoured Mossad spy. In 2002 he was accused of tipping off Israel about the 1973 Yom Kippur invasion. The Israeli media responded by saying that he was a double agent who deliberately gave them false information. He died in 2007 after falling from the balcony of his fourth-floor flat; the coroner returned an open verdict.


Number 55 of limited deluxe edition of 500, signed and numbered by the authors and with print of Sooty Falcon signed and numbered by Woodcock. This remains the only full-scale illustrated book dedicated to the avifauna of Oman, and in its trade edition is the standard reference work. This edition substitutes ease of use for lavish presentation.

Federica Galli was born in Soresina in the province of Cremona, Italy in 1932 and studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, Brera, Milan between 1950-54. It was around this time that the artist discovered etching. In 1963 Galli abandoned painting to concentrate entirely on printmaking. As a result her extensive body of work spans some fifty years and boasts over eight hundred printed plates.


The Venice Series was produced between 1983 and 1987 and includes 39 limited edition etchings printed on the highest quality paper and signed by the artist.
