Cornwall will find out about the Green Build Hub, a project by CSBT that will be built at the Eden Project. This development will be managed by Sustain Cornwall Ltd (SCL) and Ocean Services Design Consultancy, assisted by Ward Williams Associates’ Green Team. Planning permission has been applied for and the building will achieve at least a BREEAM excellent rating. BREEAM is the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method which is the industry rating for the environmental performance of a building. The building will be highly energy efficient in both its build

and in operation but it will also be an evolving test-bed for the best performing building elements, such as walls, windows, living roofs and renewable energy systems. Jason Jarvis, lead architect at Ocean Services Design Consultancy, said: ‘It is very exciting to be working on a pioneering design which will lead the way for sustainable construction in Cornwall. This will be a learning experience for everyone involved.’

Collaborators on the Green Build Hub will be exhibiting their products and expertise at Green Build Cornwall and there will also be a free seminar programme running on the day when visitors can find out about subjects ranging from Energy in Buildings to Integrating Renewables. This event is free to attend and open to all. To register go to www.csbt.org.uk/green- build-cornwall.cfm For more information, contact CSBT on 01726 64651.
