550 Jim Lewis’s silver London XI runners-up medal from the inaugural Inter-Cities Fairs Cup awarded after the two-legged final v Barcelona, the obverse engraved with an image of the competition’s trophy, the reverse inscribed COUPE DES VILLES DE FOIRES, TROPHEE NOEL BEARD, FINALISTE, 1957, on a small, later chain

The first Inter-Cities Fairs Cup was a long, drawn out affair with sporadic games played between June 1955 and May 1958, even the two legs of the final were played two months apart. The medal is actually incorrectly inscribed with the date 1957 as the final drifted into the following year. The competition was probably originally intended to be concluded by 1957 but drifted into 1958 along the way through other fixture commitments.
