Winston Churchill and the Arcadia Conference


January 1942 Auction: Wednesday 11 July at 12.00 noon NZ time


ART+OBJECT is pleased to announce an archive collection of documents signed by Winston Churchill and rare photographs dating to January 1942. The entire collection comes from the family of one of the air crew, Flight Officer R. G. Buck, from the Boeing Clipper RMA Berwick which made a momentous flight to return to the UK from Bermuda on January 16th, 1942. The collection includes three signed documents including a superb MOON cartoon, a book dedicated to R.G. Buck by Churchill and a BA menu card signed by Churchill and the British warlords also present on the perilous 18 hour flight.


The collection will be available to view online at www.artandobject.co.nz from June 27th.
