Two University of Memphis Law School Advocacy in Mediation Teams recently competed in an ABA Regional Competition in Williamsburg,


Virginia. Te team of Christopher Martin and Tomas Williams placed first in the competition, while the team of Caroline Giovannetti and Ryan Hagenbrook placed fourth among the 12 teams. Te teams were coached by Steve Shields, with help from various members of the MBA’s ADR Section.


Borod & Kramer merged with Apperson Crump, PLC as of April 1, 2012. Attorneys Bruce Kramer, Tomas Buckner, Elaine Sheng, Scott Kramer and David Brackstone, paralegal Clara Rhodes, and legal assistant Sharon Harris have joined Apperson Crump, PLC at their offices at 6070 Poplar Avenue.


Tree student editors of the Law Review at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis have been named


2012 recipients of the “Best Note Award.” Te best student notes are selected for publication in the law review, while the top three of those are selected for the Best Note Awards. Each award includes a cash prize and a framed cover of the law review issue in which the student’s note appeared. Te awards are supported by a gift from Herff Chair and Professor Andrew J. McClurg. Tis year’s first-prize winner was law review editor-in-chief Carl Eppler, and the runners-up were business editor Bill O’Connor and articles editor Matt Kernodle.


Doug Alrutz of Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, has been elected to the board of directors of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute, and Kenneth F. Clark, Jr., also with Wyatt Tarrant, has joined the board of directors at Trezevant Manor and serves on the board of trustees for the Trezevant Manor Foundation.

Ted Cummins has been named an Associate Partner of Wilson & Associates, PLLC. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College and graduated cum laude from the New England School of Law.


Richard Glassman, managing shareholder of Glassman, Edwards, Wyatt, Tuttle & Cox, P.C. is being honored on June 2, 2012, as a recipient of the University of Memphis 2012 Centennial Distinguished Alumni Award, the University’s Highest Honor. Mr. Glassman is a 1972 graduate of the University of Memphis Law School.
