12 news Clocking up the successes PSP prepares for growth
Worldwide boat transportation firm PSP, title sponsor of the PSP Southampton Boat Show, has expanded its Segensworth headquarters in anticipation of significant growth, both financially and in terms of employees.
With plans to increase the workforce by 15%, the company contacted Spaceway to advise on the best way to increase office space. After consultation, Spaceway designed and installed a mezzanine floor, which has turned dead space into a usable area, and saved money on the original plan to build an extension.
“In just a few short weeks our office space has increased by 25%. We are now prepared for expansion and getting the best return on our investment in buying the building’s freehold,“ said managaing director Frank Dixie.

Terence O’Rourke and Foster & Partners take international award
National planning and design consultancy Terence O’Rourke and architects Foster & Partners have won a MIPIM award in Cannes for their work with the McLaren Production Centre.

Tim Hancock, Terence O’Rourke managing director, said: “It’s a great honour for us to receive this international award, especially as we were the only UK project nominated in this category.“

New branch for Rancho Steak House
The success of Poole Quay restaurant Rancho Steak House in less than a year has meant that the owners will be opening their next venue, Rancho Bournemouth next month, creating more jobs in the hospitality industry for chefs, waiters and managers.
The first branch of Rancho opened in Portsmouth, followed by a second in Southampton. Both restaurants have a loyal following and are booked solidly on many nights, particularly Tuesday nights, which sees the hosting of the weekly ’All you can eat Ribs’ night. This, among other promotions, is what has helped Rancho achieve midweek busy periods, more than many other local restaurants.
