After a tough competition the judges revealed their marks and tasting notes on the best new expressions of 2011/2012 – with some interesting, and surprising, results

Glenglassaugh Revival - Glenglassaugh Distillery Judges scores 4.25, 4, 3.75, 3.5, 3.3, 1 Overall score 3.63 Tasting notes from Mark Cereals, vanilla and citrus on the nose. A clean elegant whisky – very fresh and lively.

Balblair 2001 – International Beverage Co Judges scores 4.5, 4.25, 4, 3.8, 3.5, 1.5 Overall score 3.88


Tasting notes from Mike Peach infused toffee, spice and sweet wet oak. Tastes of fl oral perfume, fruit syrup and vanilla toffee.


Laphroaig Triple Wood – Beam Inc Judges scores 4.25, 4, 4, 4, 3.8, 3.75 Overall score 3.95 Tasting notes from Charles Pale amber, light sweetness and coal soot in the taste.
