Darren Leitch, Regional Manager Edinburgh, The Whisky Shop Whisky retailing’s live wire, Darren needs boundless energy to front the Edinburgh branches of the 16- strong UK wide chain of The Whisky Shop, which in many ways
has established single malt as a viable high street product south of the border. Hands-on, fun, hugely talented, he has virtually dedicated his life to the whisky cause.
Charles Maclean, Whisky Consultant Charles is an expert on whisky, having published eight books on the subject to date. He has presented numerous tastings and talks in the UK and abroad for
whisky companies, corporations and clubs. He was elected a Keeper of the Quaich in 1992.
Mike Lord, The Whisky Shop Dufftown Dufftown is said to be the whisky capital of the world and the shop is the focal point of the two whisky festivals that Speyside hosts each year. At each festival Mike hosts an
extensive programme of whisky tastings from industry fi gures, independent bottlers and distilleries covering the entire world of whisky.
Duncan Ralph, Manager, Single Malts Direct
Huge character with impeccable style, becoming more rounded and sophisticated with age, Duncan is back for a second spell as a Scottish Field Whisky Challenge judge. Duncan delights in selling a huge selection of whiskies to customers around the world via his excellent Single Malts Direct website.
Regis Lemaitre, Proprietor, Regis Whisky Mad
Known to whisky fans through his past roles as head of bars at St Andrews Old Course Hotel and Gleneagles, but now through his innovative Regis Whisky Mad
enterprise. The kilted Frenchman is a character and now a bottler in his own right. Gifted with the nose of a perfumier and the heart of a Highlander, Regis brings the spirit of whisky’s forefathers to the gang.
Mark Connelly, co-owner of The
Good Spirits Co. Director of Glasgow’s Whisky Festival, Chairman of Glasgow’s Whisky Club, and creator of the Whisky Whisky Whisky online forums, Mark has his fi ngers in
many whisky pies and isn’t one to mince his words. A born and bred Glaswegian, he aims to put Scotland’s largest city back on the whisky map.
