Welcome to the May issue of Natural Awakenings Twin Cities! Some of you were kind enough to call or send an email congratulating us on last month’s premiere issue; we feel fortunate to be part of such a caring and generous community. Growing up in North Dakota, I’m used to the lively benefits of small-town caring and I feel that I’ve found it here with all of you that I’ve come to know in recent months. Thank you for being part of our area’s expanding web of natural health and healing. The Natural Awakening’s family is wonderful, as well. Our national support team demonstrates genuine concern and practical help supporting each publisher’s success and well-being. We are one of 87 Natural Awakenings com-

munity editions across the United States and in Puerto Rico. CEO Sharon Bruckman launched the flagship magazine in 1994 and we’ve continued to grow organically ever since. A map on the company website, NaturalAwakeningsMag.com, shows where you can find local editions in other cities when you travel. While we can’t print every national and local article we want to, due to space limitations, it’s not an issue on our website, natwincities.com, where you’ll find a digital version of the magazine each month, plus additional fresh content. We continue to invite submissions that meet our posted guidelines. This month’s issue again brings you enlightening reading, with practical tips

for Women’s Wellness that were even new to our CEO, who is broadly versed in the subject. (Be assured that we’ll spotlight men’s needs and strengths next month, so everyone’s included.) In our May feature, “The Hormone Balancing Act,” Kathleen Barnes’ interviews with national experts address the lifelong need for women to keep their hormones in balance and suggest natural strategies for feeling better. Two local practitioners offer additional expertise on another pair of topics.
