CELEBRATE PARKS DAY
Celebrate Canada’s Parks Day July 21, 2012
Canada’s Parks Day is celebrated each year on the third Saturday of July to highlight the importance of parks to local communities, society and the world at large. In addition, the day provides an opportunity to join others in a fun fi lled day of healthy activity, simple enjoyment and perhaps, some celebration cake!
Throughout the province, local, provincial and national parks will be hosting festivities such as guided hikes, nature interpretation, Jerry’s Rangers and Learn-to-Fish programming, scavenger hunts and much more. Parks Day is also a perfect time to get another stamp to fi ll up your 2012/13 BC Parks Passport and win this year’s prize.
So, mark the date (July 21st, 2012), grab your friends and family, and head out to your nearest park for a great day!

Bravo to the 2011 Kid’s Art Contest Winners!
The artistic talent of the kids in B.C. never ceases to amaze us here at BC Parks. Once again, we had an extremely diffi cult time deciding this year’s winners; it was clear that participants put a lot of hard work into their creations. We would like to thank everyone who entered the contest; we truly enjoyed each and every one we received! We have proudly printed the winners and the honourable mentions in each category for everyone’s enjoyment. These submissions can also be enjoyed online, please visit
