Bursting with bluebells at Carnglaze Caverns ...

The gardens at Carnglaze have an abundance of Cornish plant life, wild and tamed!

In spring the beauty is topped with the bluebell woods bursting into a glorious carpet of colour.

There are twilight walks around the woods on Tuesday nights throughout the bluebells life!

Call 01579 320251 to check that they are in bloom, the staff are happy to help!

Not easy to find ... but well worth the effort!

Possibly the phrase most often used by those having discovered The Golden Lion Inn & Lakeside Restaurant for the first time.

Being in ‘the middle of nowhere’ or as the owners of The Golden Lion would like to say ‘the middle of everywhere’, means that those seeking out this special little pub must have a good reason for negotiating the narrow Cornish lanes, infrequent road signs and occasional mist.

Perhaps it’s The Golden Lion’s reputation for ‘doing really nice food’?

Maybe it’s the unspoilt feeling of the place as an old-fashioned Cornish country pub?

SILVER PUB OF THE YEAR

GOLD PUB OF THE YEAR

Or possibly it’s the warmth, friendliness and relaxed ambience that permeates throughout, whether sat by one of the cosy log fires in the bar, or gazing out of the restaurant windows at the gardens and glimpses of the waters beyond?

BRONZE PUB OF THE YEAR

24 Cornish Visitor Guide - spring / summer 2012 www.cornish-visitor.co.uk

Whatever the individual reason, there is a growing number of ‘those in the know’ who choose to find their way (pretty reliably) on a regular basis to The Golden Lion Inn to celebrate a special occasion with their loved ones, catch up with

friends, or simply grab a bite to eat after a gentle stroll along the shores of the lake.

The Golden Lion really steps up to the mark in providing a first class service that pays attention to detail without being fussy or overly formal.

Waiting staff are polite, friendly and appear to genuinely enjoy what they do, unfortunately something of a rarity in many establishments these days!

The menus change seasonally and offer diners a wide choice of styles from traditional British, Modern European and Asian cuisine, all freshly prepared using Cornish meat, dairy, fish and vegetable produce.

There really is something on offer for every occasion and budget, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Not easy to find ... but well worth the effort!
