Volume 6 Number 8 NSU Celebrates Historic Basketball Victories
Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament title. Although NSU was 15th-seeded in the NCAABasketball Tournament, the team had a thrilling 86-84 victory over No. 2 seed Missouri. Congratulations to the NSU basketball team, Coach Anthony Evans, Athletic Director Marty Miller, President Tony Atwater and NSU fans everywhere. Coach Evans was named the recipient of the 2011-12 Clarence “Big House” Gaines Award, which is given to the top minority basketball coach in Division I by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
