Wendy Walk to be Held May 6 in Santa Monica
T
he Wendy Walk was formed by the children of Wendy Landes (Matt, Ali and Jackie) three years ago to support her when she was diagnosed with Li- posarcoma, a rare and dangerous
form of cancer. This year’s Wendy Walk in the Los Angeles area will be held on May 6 at 10 a.m. at Santa Monica Beach. Last year, more than $225,000 was donated to the Wendy Walk. The donations were used to fund a unique and excit- ing international cooperative research study on Liposarcoma through the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative. This year, Wendy's family and friends hope to fund another Liposarcoma research grant. The Los Angeles, New York and Miami Wendy Walks will provide an opportunity to make a difference for thousands of people around the world. These three 2012 Wendy Walks are expected to draw over 1,500 people from all over the coun- try. Additionally, the Wendy Walks will be professionally filmed and an official Wendy Walk documentary will be created. Make a Difference! Become a sponsor or donate and help the Wendy Walk and the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initia- tive find a cure for Liposarcoma.
