The updated two- bedroom cottage has a full kitchen and lots of privacy. “I grow all my own wine
grapes and wanted a source of income while the vines were maturing,” D’Angelo said. The B & B opened in

40 percent of his B & B guests come from the Lower Mainland, another 40 percent from Alberta and the remaining 20 percent from the rest of Canada, the U.S. and overseas. Many come to explore

Many of the pieces on display are
drawn from his personal collection such as the works of renowned B.C. painter Takao Tanabe. “We give customers an opportunity to enjoy the quality of art work usually seen only in galleries and museums,” said operations and sales manager Jane Hatch.

Among other events held in Tantalus’ large contemporary style tasting room are numerous corporate and professional association parties and award presentations. In 2008, Quail’s Gate Winery in
West Kelowna opened the Stewart Family Room, which is equipped with an integrated audio-visual and digital projection for multi-media presentations. The room is popular for family reunions, corporate dinner meetings and holiday celebrations. The spectrum of special events
hosted by wineries encompasses musical performances such as the popular Canadian Concert series held at Tinhorn Creek in Oliver and weddings in the Rose Garden at Kelowna’s Cedar Creek Winery. Giving back is a common activity of Okanagan wineries such as Tinhorn’s continuing support of various Boy’s and Girls Clubs’ programs in local communities. The Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna is the recipient of funds raised through a concert series held in the Rose Garden at Cedar Creek.
