Key strategic schemes in the sub-region include:
• Chester Business Park - one of the North West’s largest and most prestigious business locations. Home to a number of successful financial services businesses including Bank of America (MBNA) and M&S Money.
• Chester Northgate - the redevelopment of a key city centre site to include a new multiplex cinema, department store, restaurants, retail units and a new library and market.
• Chester Central Business Quarter - a £115-million scheme to create more than 500,000 sq ft of new Grade A office space over the next ten years.
• Warrington Birchwood Park - a 120-acre site that is home to more than 150 companies, including leading names like Amec, Toshiba and Serco.
• Warrington Lingley Mere - a well-established landscaped business park with 1.25 million sq ft of business space, including the United Utilities HQ.
• Warrington Omega - the 575-acre former Burtonwood airbase that could accommodate up to 24,000 new jobs over the next 25 years.
• Warrington Bridge Street and Times Square - a £130-million scheme to transform an area including Warrington waterfront with shops, leisure facilities, cultural centre and offices.
• Winsford Industrial Estate - the UK’s first Green Business Park.
• Ellesmere Port Waterfront - a major scheme to create hundreds of new homes alongside leisure and tourism-related development.
• Crewe Business Park - a 67-acre site which is one of only two business parks in the UK to have received the Millennium Marque Award for environmental excellence.
• New Bridge Road, Ellesmere Port – a 60ha site suitable for a range of industrial and commercial uses. Currently subject to an extensive master planning exercise by Cheshire West and Chester Council and Partners.
• Basford Crewe - major allocations of employment land south of the town on either side of the West Coast Mainline.
