film-financing event, Asian film projects are matched with top producers, financiers and distributors for co-productions. A record 32 projects, including six documentaries from 23 countries, have been selected for this, the forum’s 10th anniversary.

Movies in the frame At HKIFF, March 21-April 5, the ‘Filmmaker in Focus’ will be Peter Ho-sun Chan, while Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory — which was nominated in the documentary feature category at the 2012 Academy Awards — joins fellow nominees from the Academy’s foreign-language film category: Monsieur Lazhar, Footnote and In Darkness. honoured at the Asian Film Awards (March 19). Eminent film-makers and movie stars will hand out prizes at the gala event. Independent film will be celebrated at ifva (March


13-28). The event, organised by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, will take place at the Hong Kong Arts Centre and other city venues. This year, ifva features documentaries, including work by Werner Herzog. Taiwanese film editor Chen Po-wen will host a DocuLab masterclass on film editing.


Making music HKAMF takes place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (March 23). Organised by the IFPI (Hong Kong Group) Ltd and supported by the HKTDC, the event will feature performances by top recording artists from across Asia and a song contest for the Super Nova Awards. Digital entertainment The fifth Digital Visual Effect Summit, organised by the Association of Motion Pictures Post-production Professionals, will be held during FILMART. Speakers from across Asia share their experience in digital post-production. The event features the latest visual-effects achievements in Hong Kong. Select digital 3D stereo screenings will also take place.
