ntertainment Expo Hong Kong is Asia’s leading entertainment industry gathering, with a line-up of nine multi-media events, covering film, television, digital
entertainment and music. The expo includes the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), which is expected to attract a record number of exhibitors from all over the world. Alongside FILMART, two further expo founding
events will focus on film: the 36th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and the Hong Kong Film Awards presentation ceremony. The expo will also include the sixth Asian Film Awards (AFA), as well as the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), the Hong Kong Asian Pop Music Festival (HKAMF), the IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award, ifva (Incubator for Film & Visual Media in Asia) and the Digital Visual Effects Summit.
Spotlight on Film “FILMART is Asia’s premier film industry event and one of the world’s top three film markets in terms of exhibitor numbers. Together with other events under the expo, we look forward to showcasing the biggest annual entertainment event to the world,” says Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) assistant executive director Raymond Yip. This year’s FILMART, March 19-22 here at the
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, will welcome some 640 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries. The event, organised by the HKTDC, will for the first time include pavilions for exhibitors from Hungary, Mexico and Turkey. Other key pavilions include UniFrance and IIe de France; Film Export UK; KOFIC and KOCCA from Korea; and UniJapan, Okinawa Film Office, Hokkaido Contents Distribution and JETRO from Japan. In addition, the Independent Film and Television
Alliance will present a variety of American companies in the US pavilion. Several other countries will also feature pavilions: Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
