We’ve earned the seal! In November 2011, The CJA was accepted
as a member of the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools, (CAIS). CAIS is a unique collaboration among Canada’s best independent schools who have earned the CAIS seal of excellence through a rigorous accreditation process and the demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and leadership.
Member schools are evaluated against a set of twelve internationally
recognized best practice standards that encompass all aspects of today’s independent school, including programs, operations, and board governance. We are excited to be joining the other CAIS schools in Calgary: Strathcona- Tweedsmuir School, West Island College, Rundle College and Lycee Louis Pasteur.

alumni@cja.ab.ca FUNDRAISING FOR CJA The full cost to educate a CJA student is not covered by tuition alone. Government and various other funding
sources assist in covering expenses, however we are still experiencing a shortfall. Although the school is fiscally responsible, as with most Jewish day schools (and the majority of schools in general), finances are very tight. The CJA’s mission is to create “unsurpassed student learning through innovative and high quality instruction”. We
need to increase our revenues to not only balance our budget, but be able to move forward with superior programming. We recently replaced our aging playground thanks to wonderful group of dedicated volunteers. A “digital classroom”
project is currently underway that would see classrooms fitted with large screen televisions, supporting our growing collection of Instructional Videos and websites for all students, teachers and parents. Last year our art room was upgraded. The school is working on recommendations from independent program evaluations to further increase our excellent programming. Like all independent schools we rely upon your philanthropic participation in providing much needed additional funds that enhance core activities, enrich our programs and purchase these upgrades. You can make a difference in the quality of our student experiences with your support of our Annual Campaign. For more information, check out our website at
