February 18 Heart to Heart
Heart to Heart is a free, fun-filled cardiology event that includes health screenings and educational presenta- tions by physicians, nutritionists and exercise experts. Adults who preregister are given instructions on how to prepare for the fasting blood-glucose testing and phoned with a reminder the day before the test. Methodist Hospital partners with the Dance Council of North Texas to present the centerpiece of the event with three diverse dance companies performing and presenting audience participation sessions—Vicki Woodlee and the Texas Cool Dancers, Bandan Koro African Drum & Dance Ensemble and United Dance Academy—Samba. February 18 DanceTCU: AIDS Outreach Center Benefit Concert
Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society - in collaboration with the School for Classical & Contemporary Dance at TCU- presents the annual AIDS Outreach Center Benefit Concert with performances by DanceTCU, Big Rig Dance Collective, Bruce Wood Dance Project, Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth, Epiphany DanceArts, and Muscle Memory Dance Theatre. All proceeds from the concert will go to the AIDS Outreach Center (Tarrant County). February 24-26 Dracula
Texas Ballet Theater presents Dracula set to the haunting music of Franz Liszt. The story opens in Dracula’s castle, where ghostly light- ing illuminates the Count’s old crypt. The atmosphere breathes with the spirit of evil and the smell of darkness as Dracula seals his latest marriage - with a bite! Festivities in the picturesque village cannot escape the foreboding shadow cast by the Count on the hunt. Ensnaring his latest victim in his vast, bat-shaped cloak, he carries her away in a frenzied coach ride, careening toward the castle gate. But this time, the count tangles with the wrong woman.
