LAURA was brought to Animal Care and Control by the Philadelphia police who found her stray in the beginning of July. She spent a month there and the rescue coordinator decided to pull her because she was so sweet and always smiled when she saw him! She was still pretty dirty and emaciated when she arrived at Operation Ava though she had begun to recover. Who knows what her previous life was like but now she seemed to settle in and her love of people shined through!


GRACIE is a totally people oriented dog with a keen sense of fun. She’s been with us for a while and loves playing with other gentle dogs. She’s great with children and would also be good with an athletic partner. When she’s not busy she likes to lie on her back and pretend she’s on a tropical island (cold weather is definitely not her strong point). She’ll need moderate amounts of exercise along with some training. We’re sure that she’ll make your home complete.


ZENA is a very loveable “Lurcher”, which is another name for a greyhound mix. She is very fond of running like most greyhounds and would be a great jogging partner. She’s been tested with large dogs and is OK with polite greetings but doesn’t like silly puppies or dogs that invade her personal space. She’s not good with small dogs. We think she’d be best in a home with no other pets and should do well with a good blend of exercise and couch time.
