Event Highlights


Bradford is truly a city of culture with a packed events programme. From film festivals to markets, to family events and the Bradford Mela, there’s an event for everyone. Here are some of the highlights.


City Park Official Launch 24th


March


The opening of Britain’s newest park will be celebrated during this family event. Expect City Park’s 4,000sq metre mirror pool, 100ft central fountain and laser lighting to feature in the build-up to a spectacular night- time finale.

Bradford Film Festival 9th - 29th April


The Bradford Film Festival is one of the UK’s top film festivals celebrating new and classic films from around the world. There are dozens of premieres as well as the annual Wide Screen Weekend, silent film events and director showcases.

Saltaire Arts Trail 5th - 7th May


The Saltaire Arts Trail is an annual visual arts festival showcasing high quality local contemporary art and craft. The Trail utilises public buildings and private homes in Saltaire for exhibitions and arts events. Houses on Saltaire’s famous terraces and Salts Mill have all been used as backdrops to showcase local artists work.

Bradford Mela Festival 10th


June


Join us at Peel Park in Bradford on Sunday 10th June when Bradford Mela returns with a free celebration of the cultures and communities of the district. The vibrant programme of activities will include entertaining street theatre, tempting foods, exotic gifts, funfair rides, and music and dance from around the world.

Ilkley Summer Festival 1st - 31st August


Visit Ilkley during the month of August for the Summer Festival. A month packed with events for all the family, including markets, exhibitions, family workshops and concerts.

1940’s Weekend 19th - 20th May


Step back in time and celebrate the 1940s with the village of Haworth. This popular event attracts villagers and visitors who dress in 1940s attire. Events include a military parade and evening dances.

Bingley Music Live 31st August - 2nd September


Bingley Music Live is a three day family festival featuring lots of bands on one stage. Previous acts have included Feeder, Maximo Park, Editors and The Undertones.

Saltaire Festival 6th - 16th September


Saltaire UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of Bradford district’s most popular festivals; the Saltaire Festival in September. The festival has a packed programme of events including exhibitions, musical performances, markets, beer festivals, historical walks and comedy.

Ilkley Literature Festival 28th


September - 14th October


The Ilkley Literature Festival is the North of England’s liveliest and most prestigious literature festival. Events include author’s events, discussions, readings, and workshops. The festival has attracted some of the biggest names in entertainment and literature including Janet Street Porter, Melvyn Bragg and Simon Jenkins.

Haworth Christmas Festival 17th November - 23rd December


Celebrate the run up to Christmas at the Haworth Christmas Festival with six weekends of Victorian inspired Christmas events from mid November. Highlights include the Torchlight Weekend and Scroggling the Holly.
