T

he AIHT ordination service was a

beautiful event marking a passage from caterpillar to butterfly as each of the graduates was anointed and had their hands blessed for service.

The Sunday morning service was part two of the ordination. The newly

ordained reverends began their service to the community by creating and presenting prayers, inspirational poetry, and ended with an emotional presentation of the “Impossible Dream” performed in American Sign Language. The service was a moving testimony of resilient faith. Those present were moved by the power of spirit moving throughout the sacred space.

Reverend Amatallah Nadirah Naim

A

matallah Nadirah Naim

(Servant of God; Rare, Precious, Unique; Blessed) was born and raised in Philadelphia PA. Her immediate family extends between there and Washington, DC and consist of two sets of parents, five brothers, and four sisters. She is the mother of two adult children and is affectionately known as “Mere- mere” by her three grand’s.

She was enlisted in the United States

Army, and in late 2009 after serving 23 years retired under honorable conditions

and became employed as a civilian in the federal government. Her overseas and stateside duty stations included Germany, Korea, Honduras, Kentucky, Texas, and Kansas where she currently resides.

Her desire to serve began at the

early age of eight while attending grade school at St. Francis de Sales. There as a third grade student she remembers how intrigued she was of the Sister’s clothed in their habits. She loved how the garments seemed to make a “swooshing” sound as they passed by and a slight breeze was felt. Like Angel wings were tucked somewhere inside. She wanted to be able to swoosh; she wanted to become a nun.

That passion was reawakened

again in 2009, while attending her first Agape Revelation Conference. That was an experience that changed her life. Listening to Reverend Michael Beckwith and Ricky BB minister through chanting and song filled her heart so full she thought it was going to burst. Amatallah has always been involved in some sort of service to others and being in the midst of all that love, she knew she needed to do more. As she watched the Revered, she said to herself “I want to do that!!!”
